Dick Shakerley of VRS Sales stopped by on a recent drill night to give a presentation on the benefits of the CAFS system we have on Engine 2. He also went through its proper operation with apparatus drivers.
The Adams Fire Department was awarded a $43,000 Federal Assistance to Firefighters Grant today. The grant, the department's second successful submission, will be used to purchase a complete breathing air compressor and fill station that meets current NFPA standards. Together with the upcoming delivery of the department's new air/light vehicle which is replacing a 1948 Cheverolet, the air delivery system for the department's SCBA bottles will be completely compliant with existing regulations. The grant was written by Assistant Chief Lennon.
