The Massachusetts Fire Academy Live Burn Training Trailer visited Adams Tuesday. The prop features gas fed fires that can be used to simulate kitchen, bedroom and basement fires as well as roll-over conditions. For many of our younger members, this was their first up-close view of actual fire conditions. Members from the Dalton Fire Department also participated in the training. More photos here.

The Adams Fire Department recently participated in an inter-agency Rapid Intervention Team training with the Cheshire Fire Department. Cheshire often serves in a mutual-aid capacity as Adams' RIT during structure fire calls. The trainings were held over two weeks with the first being held at the Adams station. Topics were conversions, drags, wall breaches and the Denver drill prop. The second week in Cheshire covered ladder and rope bail outs from a second floor window.
